Adult Rowing Lessons

Learn the basics of Sweep Rowing in an 8 and 4  person rowing shells.

By the end of the 1 sessions, you will be able to attend the intermediate class which will prepare you to join our experienced members in weekly open-rowing. 

The $200 fee includes:

- 12 classes  /  PRC T-shirt   /   Current Quarter Membership

Class options are available based on number of signups and group availability. 

Rowing Waiver

For liability purposes, all Adults must print and sign both a US Rowing Wavier Adults and either a  Adult Swim Wavier or compete a PRC Swim Test.

Please select the Waiver that corresponds to your age.

All youth below the age of 18 must complete a PRC Swim test. There is no Youth swim wavier.

Intermediate/Introduction to Sculling

Intermediate/ Introduction to Sculling classes are for Adult rowers who have completed the Novice  Sweep Class or for rowers who have rowed recreational before, but have been away from rowing for a while and would like a refresher. The course includes 12 two hour classes over 4 weeks.  The days and times are Sat/Sun 6:30 am- 8:30 am. Start date TBD.

All though PRC does some Sweep Rowing the majority of PRC rowing is done in sculling boats. We would like to introduce you to sculling. This class will prepare you to row in sculling boats ranging from singles to quads. During the classes you will learn sculling techniques, boating safety, water safety, and navigation of the Bayou. Rowers will learn the basics of sculling in a training single and sometimes in a double or a quad. Once you have completed the 4 week course, you are eligible to advance to a level 2 rower after taking a skill assessment test.
